I am currently facing a “humbling” experience.  I have a European friend who is Pentecostal.  He is very polite and tuned in to his emotional nature, certainly never rude.  But I am increasingly finding myself on the verge of saying things like, “I don’t care what the bible says,” or “I don’t want to hear about Jesus anymore,” just because of the constant chatter from him about spiritual things.  It actually sounds profane to me when I hear people like him constantly using the name of Jesus throughout the day.  The idea that someone without University training, knowing virtually nothing about church history, a peasant and a former soldier, would feel qualified to go around the towns and villages of his country pointing the people to a better way, a more spiritual path, while  dismissing as “demonic” the 2000 years of church tradition present in those towns and villages, seems to me completely ludicrously.  Is this the fruit of spiritual gifts?  Is this where speaking in tongues, so called, leads?  I am not in a position to judge, although I find the intensity of his devoutness quite draining and find myself feeling increasingly like a non-believer when I’m on the verge of saying things like, “I don’t want to hear about Jesus anymore” and “I don’t care what the bible says.”

Modern applications of just-war theory generally fail to recognize the “hidden” cultural forces which, because they are amplified by mass media, easily distort public perception of political reality.  Applying ‘Augustinian’ (or other) just-war criteria to any modern political situation without taking such distortion into account amounts to reading Augustine in a hall of mirrors, where much of the symmetry between pirates and super-powers is skewed beyond recognition.  Failure to apply a hermeneutic of this order to just-war theory risks allowing it to be subverted by right-wing apologists in order to justify what are essentially crusades.

I am very sad with what has happened to my country.  Last week I met with a Spanish tutor from Ecuador.  There are two largest cities in Equador: Guayaquil and Quito.  Her family is from Guayaquil.  To drive to Quito from Guayaquil takes eight hours through steep and winging mountain roads.  There is nothing equivlent to the interstate highway system.  There is poverty in Equador.  Yet she told me that 3 or 4 times a year her family drives or takes the eight hour bus trip from Gauyaquil to Quito just to have fun, shop and eat in the cafes and bars.  Can you imagine an American family taking a vacation 3 or 4 times a year?  There is such a sense of family and an emotional solidarity that comes with that.  Do Americans just not know how to relate to each other.  I was talking with an activist yesterday and she was telling me the differenct way Spain dealt with their terrorist attacks than we did here.  She had lived in Spain and had some insight into the culture.  This is what she said, “When they are not working, they are with friends and family talking.  If you aren’t at work, you are with friends and family talking, talking, talking.”  Much of this takes place in bars, or cafeterias as they are called.  It is not uncommon for families after they have had dinner to go to loud smokey bars.  Many Americans would cry “abuse” if they heard about fathers dragging their wives and infants out to loud smokey bars after 11pm, but in Spain that is the norm.  Many other things are different in Latin American countries as well.  Last year my Spanish teacher told me that when she was five years old, her mother started giving her large canasters of coffee and milk when she would go out and play with her cousins.  “You will say bad mother,” she said, “No, it is cultural.”  People from those cultures may see American poor families treating their kids to sodas and candy bars and think it is abuse.  It is not surprising that most people in the global south want to have socialism and have the state control most of the resources and large companies.  We are so politically immature here.  Neomi Klein, in her new book The Shock Doctrine, gives an alternative between authoritarian communism on one side and complete free-market capitalism on the other.  She shows that it is possible to have a public sphere that is safe from the free-market.  She shows that countries do better for all people when tarruffs are charged in all imports.  I went and saw her speak Friday night and there were AT LEAST 800 people there.  I got up an asked a question about 9/11 because her book is about 9/11 and other crises that bring in “disaster capitalism.”  I was really nervoues and couldn’t say just exactly what I wanted to say, though people afterwards said I’d done a good job.  One of the reasons I was so nervoues was right before I asked my question Barry had disrupted the meeting and started yelling, “Look at the evidence,” and holding up a sign that said, “9/11 truth now.”  This Barry, for a few readers, is not the legendary left-wing hoboe who comes around my church.   The whole lead up to the question and answer period saw very subtle refernces to “conspiracy” and “the lively question and answer period that is going to come up.”  After Michael asked challenged her about 9/11, she said, “But there’s not proof.  I only report on things I can prove and there’s not proof and if there is, I haven’t seen it.”  That’s when Barry stood up and said loudly, “There is Neomi, there is!  Look at the evidence!”  She said, “Okay, you’re being rude.  I’m not being rude, but you’re being rude.”  Afterwards Barry and some others told me they missed me at the group and wanted me to come back.  “We need you,” they said.  After my conflict with some of the senior members of the group, I had made myself scarce.  Now I realize how much I missed those friends I had made, some of which are deep thinkers and students of the bible as well.

There are some in the Portland who think these heavy-handed tactics are very bad and discredit us.  I’m not one of those.  It’s not my style, but it sure gets our point across.  There is nothing more important right now than the crime of 9/11 and its cover up.  Any attempt to get the truth out into the public should be commended.

I may be going to Ecuador in the new year.  I have had a series of few job interviews recently and am debating weather I want to just work full-time in the new year and save up money to go.  I don’t feel right about going to Mexico to study.  Ecuador is the cheepest Latin American country right now and cheeper than PSU.  One of the problems I face, however, with work is the pain that I have in my feet which even a walk to the bus stop aggrivates.  They are much better since starting super-feet insoles but the insoles need now to be replaced and they are expensive.  I am worried that so much time on my feet as these jobs require (both interviews were for clothing stores) would cause the pain to be unbearable.  I don’t feel safe in this country and would wish to immigrate, yet there are problems.  Although it is very easy for Americans to get into universities in Ecuador and I already have a one-year visa promised me, there is no Orthodox church there and this would create extreme conflicts of interests.  On the other hand, I don’t want to have to choose between going to jail or vaccinating my children.  Or paying for private school because my future children aren’t allowed to go to public school without being vaccinated with mercury and strains of sexually transmitted deseases.  I no longer feel safe in this country and would like to go away for just a few years to watch how things turn out.  When I am talking about politics on the phone, it invariably cuts off.  This never happens to me except when I am talking about politics on the phone.  Something is happening and may happen that is very bad.  Why is the military buying tens of thousands of tents and trailers?  Could these be used to potentially vaccinate people?  Vaccinations cause sterility, which fits in well with the Bilderberg agenda of eugenics and mass birth control.  Having healthy children is the best way to give the finger to these Bilderberger tyrants. 

NO HEAT IN WINTER!!

Yesterday it was snowing in Portland.  A friend of mine getting ready to fly to Moscow was going shopping for clothes and jokingly told me that now she was going shopping for Portland clothing rather than Moscow clothing.  Today I am making a complaint to the owners of the apartment building.  The manager does not run the heat.  Why, when it is snowing outside.  I am having difficulty sleeping because I am shivering all night.  Other people in the apartment building are incredulous and we talk among ourselves of this scandal.  For two months we have had to deal with this.  The heat is included in the price of our rent.  It is ridiculous!!  He does run it, though, by waking us up at 4:00 in the morning by hot water causing the pipes to explode.  It should not be up to him to decide when it is cold enough to run the heat or not because every apartment unit has the option to turn it on or turn it off.  But right now we don’t have the option to turn it on.  Yesterday was probably the coldest day of the year and it didn’t come on until after midnight.  That is why other tenants and myself talk excitedly among us.  Our apartment manager isn’t one to inspire warmth, however, and wouldn’t understand. 

What is more, he has tried to pressure me into signing a year lease and threatened, if I don’t, to raise my rent.  Is this legal?  I dont’ have my original contract and may request a copy of it from him but I am sure once we move in they are not allowed to just arbitrarily raise the rent or else nobody would move into those apartments. 

A declined invitation: an example of paradmigmatic thinking

Recently I wrote to an Orthodox mission organization in Mexico which runs an orphanage.  I asked if I could volanteer for a good long time and offered to pay my way.  The administrator asked me to come and seemed excited about the prospect.  He explained that they lived near a town and it was quite easy to take a bus into the city to go shopping.  I explained to him that I had some food intolerance’s and would need to do my own cooking.  I explained that I grew extremely silk if I had milk products, wheat, soy, and even rice.  I said I was used to buying and preparing my own food wherever I went.  He said everyone eats together and so basically not an option, don’t come.  Wow!  This is an extreme example of paradigmatic thinking.  With many people I know, vegetarianism and veganism is an ideology that goes beyond common sense.  Because it is assumed a-priori that meat is bad, they reason, soy is good.  The assumption is: meet is bad and let all the discussion bafterwards be based on that assumption.  So why are these friends and acquaintances getting so sick all the time?  All I hear about within these circles is one illness after another so that sometimes monasteries are forced into hospitals.  Soy causes homosexuality and makes men effeminate and unable to have children or think clearly.  Americans are deprived of fat.  In Buenos Aires where they eat steak every night, usually very rare—they are relatively free from the deaseses which plague Americans.  I ate cow throat last weekend with Gregory and it was unbelievable.  It is a delicacy in Argentina but cheep here because it’s only being discovered.  Some naturalpathic physicians give cow throat, pig eyes and cow brains to people who have week throats and week brains and week eyes.  This form of therapy is extremely effective.  The medicine that is practiced at the conventional doctors offices and hospitals is based on the scientific method, on statistics and on math and science and you know what…it doesn’t work.  It is not effective for treating people.  I know from personal experience.  There are alternative ways of treating people but you have to search.  The administrator for the Orthodox orphanage in Mexico who didn’t want me to come if I wasn’t going to eat bread, soy and milk products is an example of paradigmatic thinking.  I’ve often heard people say, “Americans eat so much more meat and fatty foods than other people.”  So not only is it a spectacular propaganda achievement that fat is bad, it also that Americans prefer meat and fat.  It goes against all common sense and yet people actually believe this. Compared with countries like Argentina, we are a relatively fat-free society.  Yet I’m not able to bring this up around my many friends and acquaintences (getting sicker and sicker and sicker) who advocate the health effects of veganism.  Maybe if more people spent time getting to know eachother in bars and cafes, we would be able to have these discussions without people attacking the messenger.          I have now heard back from the administrator and he welcomed me to come.  They don’t check their emails so often in south American and Mexico, I have noticed.  The words COULD be relevent, though, with people who don’t understand about food intolerences and many of the other observations are relevent and so I am keeping this up.  Nobody reads my blog anyway.

Turn off that electricity!!!

Yesterday afternoon and evening the electricity went off over all Northwest Portland.  I walked down to the busy intersection where I lived and watched traffic.  The streetlights were all off.  No horns were blowing, no cars crashing.  I was impressed by how polite everyone suddenly became and how quiet my neighborhood was.  The traffic was self-moderating.  Benjamen Franklin, who, invented the traffic lights had a lot of strange ideas, like everyone needing to show up on time.  He thought time was money, advocated tough love and a bunch of other nonsense.   He wrote many maxims to illustrate his philosophy, the most quoted one being ”Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.”  Franklin’s autobiography was quoted a lot in the famous book by Max Webber The Spirit of Capitalism and the Protestant Work Ethic because it seemed so perfect an example of the ideology Webber was calling out.  Hard work is good, don’t get me wrong, but there are limits.  For example,  I live in a neighborhood where after work everyone comes home and sits in front of their computers and telivisions.  In South America, women go to bars at night with their babies and stay up late.   Bars are family affairs.  In Spain, after the family has dinner, they hit the streets for a drink and some discotecas don’t even open until sunrise.  There might be another reason, though, why everyone started being so relaxed and considerate when the electricity went off yesterday.  Our bodies were not fitted for the extreme amount of electric stimulation that is always present.  We cannot see electromagentic polution but it is present…increasingly so now with the advent of cell phones and wireless internet (so called “Wi FI”).  One of the first things I noticed was how RELAXED I felt.  I got out my candles, played the piano and had a blast.  The electricity should stay off!!  But then all our satalites would be out of commission and there would be bacteria in the water, someone might say.  Well, would that really be so bad.  Perhaps the least known cause of electromagnetic pollution is outside Fairbanks Alaska, the covert HAARP project which has as its sole purpose the goal of bouncing billions of watts of electricity off the ionosphere every single day.  Is is called an Ionospheric Heater and maybe doing more to contribute to global warming in a month than all the C2 ommsisions cars put out in ten years.  It has been speculated that HAARP, and other devises like it, around the world are involved in manipulation the weather. One thing is certain: Are bodies were not designed to withstand the stress brought about through so much exposure to electromagnetic waves.  Mozart wrote his music by candle-light.  Through simple changes, like watching less television and going out at night with friends, we can put more positive energy into the world.

Germboys, Executive orders and Vaccines

I am reposting this article I wrote a few weeks ago because I think it may be one of the most important pieces of news, because of what it means.  Last night Steve Quale www.stevequale.com was interviewed on Coast to Coast, a worldwide radio program that has more listeners than any other radio talk show.  He talked about weather wars and giants.  He said vaccines steralize people and cause autism.  His son became autistic after taking a vaccine.  The sterilization fits well with the Bilderberg agenda which is no more children and enforced birth control.  The military is currently buying tens of thousands of tents and trailers which could potentially be used to vaccinate people.  But this is the situation now: Will I have to choose between going to jail or getting my future children vaccinated?  Will it mean that they will not be able to go to public school because only private schools allow unvaccinated children.  Steve Quale said a 4 star military general told him there was a plan to kill 200 million Americans.  People who have worked in the underground bases have become whistle blowers and speak of huge gulags being built where torture chambers contain people and are already opperational in the United States and Britian.  I hear it all on Coast to Coast.  There are pictures of the 600 above ground prison camps fully opperational while more are being built.  Most of the top microbiologists in the world, from government microbiologists to university microbiologists, have all been systematically murdered in the last few years.  Why?  Steve Quale speculates that it may have something to do with the virus the illumanati is getting ready to unleash.  The point is America is no longer safe.  He says that weather wars are going on and there is currently an attempt to explode a volcanoe that will cause a title wave in the pacific ocean that will burry the east coast.  We need to pray, go to church and start binding together into tribes because that is the only thing that will save us when the time comes, hopefully later rather than sooner.

John and Samantha were so excited when they brought their baby home from the hospital.  Samantha was Canadian and so, even though John had a job in the United States, they traveled to Canada to have the baby.  They were poor and couldn’t afford the high costs of hospital fees.  Their new daughter was named Sarah, after the most beautiful women in the bible.  When home, Sarah drank unpasteurized milk from her mother, made all the more nutritious by the quality food from their garden Sarah’s mother ate.  There was always a smile on Sarah’s face which caused John and Samantha to wonder if their baby might not be the happiest one of all their acquaintance. Whenever she did cry, they changed her or nursed her until she was happy again. When Sarah was six months old, they took her to church to be baptized.  Everything seemed complete.  Five years later John and Samantha were told Sarah couldn’t enter public school.  Why…because she hadn’t been vaccinated. 

Sound like fiction?  This is exactly what is facing 2,300 parents in Maryland where, according to the Washington Post, they may now face jail time and costly fines for refusing to have their children vaccinated.  The children are not allowed to start school until the inoculations take place.  The jail time for the parents is for “truancy”, although this has been identified as vaccination through the backdoor.  Some colleges and universities are now making childhood vaccines a requirement for entry while the sheer number of vaccines now being recommended is steadily growing.  Parents aren’t taking it quietly.

 

“Doctors are charging parents extra for bringing up the subject,” says Dr. Sherri Tenpenny, who heads up the Osteo Med II clinic in Ohio, a center providing alternative and traditional medicine.  Speaking on the popular radio program Coast to Coast am this week, she said  “Doctors have adopted a paternalistic attitude towards their patients,” she said.  “They complain that parents think they know best and have started fining them—or walking out—for bringing up vaccines.”  [this is a paraphrase of her words based on memory]

 

Time Magazine and Newsweek have said parents think they know better than their doctors. Parents who choose a diet for their children, even if not an ideal diet, are more informed about health than those families which do not eat consciously at all. Conversely, parents who decide which vaccines they want their children to have, and which ones they don’t, are going to be more informed than parents who don’t ask any questions at all. Moreover, our whole legal system relies on the ability of lay people to evaluate claims of competing experts.  There is simply no basis to assert that parents—or journalists—-are incapable of educating themselves on this matter and making an informed decision.

Dr. Sherri Tenpenny has been working for years to educate parents about the dangers and health risks associated with vaccines.  She says that vaccines often do not work, contain dangerous chemicals (formaldehyde) and metals (mercury and aluminum), and work to suppress the immune system.  She writes:

If a “dirty bomb” exposed a large segment of US citizens simultaneously to Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A, tetanus, pertussis, diphtheria, Haemophilus influenza B, three strains of polio viruses, 3 strains of influenza viruses, measles, mumps, and rubella viruses, the chickenpox virus, and 7 strains of Streptococcus bacteria, we would declare a national emergency. We would call it an “extreme act of BIOTERRORISM”. The public outcry would be immense and our government would act accordingly. And yet, those are the very organisms that we inject through vaccines into our babies and our small children, with immature, underdeveloped immune systems. Many are given all at the same time. But instead of bioterrorism, we call it “protection.” Reflect a moment on that irony.

   —-Do vaccines contain mercury?   

Dr. Joseph Mercola, who runs a natural health website and is the author of Take Control of Your Health, has repeatedly stated that flu vaccines contain mercury and urged people not to receive flu shots, which many still do annually.  Other health experts have repeated similar concerns about the way mercury is used in medical science, including its widespread use in dentistry.  Many of the ingredients in vaccines are proprietary and new legislation has legalized pharmaceutical company’s determination to never disclose the ingredients.  New laws make them immune from lawsuits.  For this reason, it is hard to say exactly what is in many of the vaccines.  But are they helping?  Are grade-school children now free from contracting Hepatitis B (a disease only associated with sexual intercourse and intravenous drug use)? 

 

According to an article in the Oregonian this year, one in every 150 kids is now born with some form of Autism.  Some argue that these numbers, astonishing if they are to be believed, are because of the expanding definition of autism and the autism spectrum disorders.  If this is so, it is only because we now seek words to explain a disease that was unheard of 100 years ago.  We now have to seriously ask if vaccines are maybe creating an emergency unprecedented in our nations history.  Is a health emergency facing us because of the medical establishment’s obsession with getting everyone inoculated? Many books and articles have been written on the mercury/autism connection and the vaccines that perhaps facilitate autism although categorical evidence is lacking.  But there are other diseases associated with getting vaccinated.

 

Gulf war syndrome is a generic word describing a whole host of symptoms plaguing our armed forces from chronic fatigue to multiple chemical sensitivity.  It is interesting that military men and women receive many vaccines, lining up in a row to receive one after the other, including inoculations against anthrax.  There have been many cases of sudden and serious illness following these shots.  The amount soldiers’ children born with autism and birth defects is shocking.  Gulf War Syndrome is not, however, a recognized medical ailment as that would make these soldiers eligible for free care in VA hospitals.

It is ironic that parents are not now allowed to choose what is best for their children after educating themselves, and depicted as fools in the corporate media when they do, but politicians are. New laws passed by congress and executive orders passed by the White House, allow for mandatory vaccines in the event of an unspecified emergency or bird-flu.  The legislation states clearly that an emergency is one that is defined by the executive branch and those who refuse these potential vaccines, as these parents do now in Maryland, can be quarantined.  Similar proposals by members of Bush Administration, such as one put forward by the now indicted Lewis I “Skooter” Libby, allow for low flying aircraft to administer vaccines to whole cities in the new American century.  This aid to the Vice President was so obsessed with getting everyone immunized that he was known to Bush’s cabinet as Germboy.  He even wrote a novel about a smallpox epidemic which required governments to take action and implement a mass vaccination program.  Scooter Libby advocated—along with others in the present government, using race based bioweapons as a tool of warfare, in a secret document that was leaked to the New York Times, after which Scooter Libby did not deny being one of the signatories.   Libby was present, along with New York Times reporter Judith Miller—who went to jail in the case which finally indicted Libby, when the Vice President oversaw a war game dealing with a bioterror attack.  The possibility of a pandemic is real and caution is needed.  But only after we face the hazard arising from the many bioweapons labs and disease experiments that go on in this country will we be in a position to deal effectively—or even talk—about any pandemic mother nature may send.  We have just finished a couple years hype about bird-flu.  It faded just as quickly as the SARS scare.  The weekend before a possible bird-flu first hit the news, and Eastern Europeans started slaughtering their birds in response, there was a front page article in the New York Times, which might as well have been on the last page.  It said that United States government scientists had travelled to Alaska to dig up the frozen remains of some men who had died in the great flu epidemic of 1917 and were preparing to recreate the virus in a laboratory.  It is a truth that our government has, in the past, experimented on its people.  That is admitted now in declassified documents. There is no basis to assume our government isn’t capable of unleashing a virus to consolidate its power.  And when you look at this present government, there is every reason to believe they could—and would—be capable of creating a problem to bring in the predetermined solution.

 

 

 —A New Paradigm in Health 

 

 

Weston Price, when he traveled around the world looking at the diets of various healthy cultures known for their longevity, found that the unchlorinated, unfluoridated water the children drank had trace amounts of polio and other childhood diseases which acted as a natural inoculation.  Alternative health experts have observed that our immune systems are too pure and need the stimulation from bacteria and germs found in unpasteurized dairy products and water from many third world countries.  A recent study printed in National Geographic confirmed this.  It found that children who had grown up with barnyard animals in the house had fewer cases of adult illness and the flu.  Moreover, the basis of good health, according to naturopathic physician and yoga instructor Laura Washington, who practices in Portland, OR—where I live, is the autonomic nervous system.  The established medical community doesn’t even recognize the existence of the autonomic nervous system, but it is the basis for feeling good.  She has explained to me that having an autonomic nervous system on track allows everything else to freely function.  It could be as simple as giving up a food, or naturally correcting some deficiency in the endocrine system.  Oftentimes people assume that they just don’t feel good because of other factors, such as depression or temperament, and don’t look further.  The presupposition of the prevailing medical doctrine is that illnesses and mental afflictions have no real cause and cannot be treated.  This ignorance even prevails among many alternative health professionals.  The Paradigm of health that Weston Price discovered and wrote about is the answer to all the illnesses facing us today, and it is enjoyable.  He says that animal fat is good and that meet is good, along with everything that is natural.  We can have death by diet, or health by diet, according to Weston Price.  Real food, however, is becoming scarce.

 

 

It will be uphill work for anyone who wants to implement Weston Price’s findings in their lives. The case in Maryland may be a test for the resolve of these parents who now face jail time for refusing to have their children vaccinated.  New hurdles await even after a possible victory in this Maryland case, which is by no means yet certain now that colleges and universities are requiring students to show vaccinations before entry and the immigration requirements in this regard are also becoming more strict. 

 

 

Recently a similar case arose in Texas when Governor Rick Perry signed an executive order demanding all 11 and 12 years old girls to get vaccinated for cervical cancer, a sexually transmitted disease.  He was forced to rescind the directive after a popular outcry.  That laws are now being passed mandating vaccination of children against sexually transmitted diseases (cervical cancer and hepatitis B); that healthy college kids should be required to go back and receive childhood vaccines, shows an inoculation ideology separated from any real health concerns.

 

 

This worries me.  Will my future children not be able to attend public school unless they are first vaccinated?  I don’t want any vaccines for my future children.  Will I go to jail for feeding raw goats’ milk to my children?   Already the Environmental Protection Agency shows up on organic farms with guns to close down the raw milk operations.  What about the rights of the consumer?  Will I have to raise my children in another country because the land of my birth has grown unsafe?  Do we even want to live in a country so Leninist?  Is the idyllic story of John and Samantha bringing their baby home and allowing God and nature to do the rest only a pipe dream?  American people are too quiescent.  Laws such as Congress’ Biodefence and Pandemic Vaccine and Drug Development Act of 2005 and the many Executive orders dealing with the subject, to which I have alluded, only occur if we let them.  These laws should not be surprising in a country where the President says to members of congress that he thinks “the constitution is just a god-damn piece of paper.”  The reaction of the American people, or non-reaction, however, is quite shocking. We have the power.  For example, if the American people had have started demanding raw milk when health food stores first become in-vogue, there might now be a thriving raw milk industry.  The same is true for vaccines. It is time to stand up and demand our rights.

 I think it should be underlined, however, that Steve Quayle, who has spent an enourmous amount of energy researching those that came down, believes that these Nephilim are still around.  Fortunately these GIANTS can be viewed on his website by anyone who wishes (the link is up, in the aforementioned post), since he works with a resourceful artist.

UFO’S – Nephilim – Atlantis -

Over the past two years I have made it a nightly habit to listen to a radio show which, while dealing with many subjects, has the subject of UFO’s at the forefront. 

Coast to coast am, as it is called, is the highest rated radio talk show in America and, even though it is on in the middle of the night, which should show the burgeoning interest in this subject, on any given night anywhere from 8 million to 13 million people across America, Canada and the internet tune in for the four hour duration of the program to hear stories of UFO’s, “alien” abductions, crop circles, star children, conspiracies, archeology, intelligent design and much more.  

All sorts of views are showcased on this show.  Some guests say the UFO’s are demonic, others are certain they come from a hollow earth, others insist they are interplanetary while still others claim they are military craft on a disinformation campaign to convince the public that they are an alien space race.  These catigories are not mutually exclusive and many of the guests propound several different theories.

One thing that particularly concerns me is the many first-hand accounts I hear of so called alien abductions.  People report being taken up into spaceships and having bizarre experiements performed, such as chips being implanted and bizarre sexual activity, often leaving them extremely traumatized.  Often the memories of the experiences will be erased and come flooding back after hypnosis or another trigger event  There is also the strange phenomenon of cattle mutilation.  Farmers report finding cattle with their innards dismembered that have been dropped from the sky.  The cattle will not be touched by any carnivorous animal afterwards. These things seems to happen mostly in the United States and England, two countries unquie for their covert operations and secrets, which leads me—and others— to the military/cult hypothesis.  The proprietors of this program, however, believe that many UFO sightings, and related “alien” abductions, are carried out by benign intelligent beings from other planets hoping to save us from ourselves and usher in a new era of higher consciousness.  These “intelligent beings other planets” do not mention the name of Jesus.  They seem to leave people alone whenever the name of Jesus is mentioned. 

One cannot help but be taken, however, with the impressive array of scholarly researchers showcased on this program.  Men from all over the world who have devoted their lives to researching Ufology speak all night long.  There is not anything like it in the mainstream.  Some radio markets repeat the program after it finishes, effectively making it an eight hour radio program. 

It would be interesting to know how many Europeans are aware that the most listened to radio show in America broadcasts eight hours a night on flying saucers and related subjects.  Nothing like this has ever happened before.  The host, George Noorey, is probably the nicest guy in radio.  Coast to Coast am is responsible for bringing the subject of flying saucers into the popular consiousness.

As well as many scholars and serious UFO researches, the amount of government UFO whistle-blowers is also astonishing.  A military officer, for example, who, before his death, signed an afidavid claiming he witnessed a flying saucer crash at Roswell New Mexico in 1947 and saw alien bodies.  It just goes on and on.

What concerns me, however, is the phenomenon known as alien abduction.  What these victims are reporting is an unprecedented violation of human rights.  It is very possible that compartmentalized factions of the military industrial complex are experimenting on people in Bohemian grove type settings (http://www.infowars.com/bg1.html) and waging a disinformation campaign to convince people that they are being visited by aliens.  Whatever is happening, it is certainly not benign.

DISCOVERY OF ATLANTIS

What if one of humankind’s greatest mysteries could be solved by a single geographical and archaeological discovery – that of the actual location of the legendary Atlantis?  What if for the first time in history, the possibility of the existence of the famed island could come alive both through 3D maps and models showing a stretch of sunken land one mile beneath the waters of the Eastern Mediterranean sea, and through images from the seafloor which reveal structures that are evidently man-made? And what if this underwater landmass and these man-made structures perfectly matched Plato’s detailed descriptions of the lost city of Atlantis?  

The legend of Atlantis made its way to the West through the works of Plato about 2,400 years ago, but this story is actually much older.  Roughly 2,600 years ago, the Greek statesman, Solon (known as the “father of democracy”), traveled to Egypt and met with the high priests of the land.  This trip was widely documented by Greek historians as Solon was a legendary figure even in his own time; consequently we know for certain that the trip did take place and even where the meeting was held. 

The Egyptian priests were known in those days as the best keepers of ancient history and they presented Solon with their most ancient historic records, or what may be considered as their version of the biblical “Genesis.”  Here, Solon first learned about the lost island where civilization had begun. He was so taken by the story that he spent the rest of his life compiling and translating the records to the Greek tongue, changing all the Egyptian names to Greek, and naming this island “Atlantis”. At the time however, it was also known by various other names throughout the ancient world, and it is important to note that many people even today wrongly assume that Atlantis must have been in the Atlantic Ocean; in fact no one knows the original name before Solon’s translations – the “prehistoric” world would not have even known what an ocean is (names like the Atlantic Ocean and the Pillars of Hercules are actually relatively modern Greek names and the original names used have been long lost). 

About two hundred years later, Plato got hold of this treasured text and relayed the legend in the form of dialogues in his “Timaeus” and “Critias.”  The Egyptians had told Solon that this was the island was where the art of civilization truly began, and that the Greek and the Egyptian cultures were merely off-shoots of that original civilization. They also said that the island was submerged around 9,600 BC and had been in existence for many thousands of years before the great flood (click to see animation file). 

While the modern world continues to wonder about whether Atlantis was real or not, one thing is for certain.  To the Egyptian priests, Solon, and Plato, and in fact all of our distant ancestors, the story was based on real events that took place on a real island.  What strikes one most when reading Plato’s Critias is the astounding number of physical clues, dimensions and detailed descriptions  provided about the island, the great plain at its southern foothills, and the sacred Acropolis Hill located at the heart of the island’s capital, Atlantis City.

Today’s generation is the first in history that has the technological capability to search the ocean depths, and the world’s first detailed underwater map of the eastern Mediterranean seafloor was produced especially for the Cyprus-Atlantis Project.

After ten years of research and the creation of proprietary maps and 3D models, Robert Sarmast has discovered astounding evidence of the sunken isle of Atlantis (or some might call it Eden), a lost land mass that many believe to be the prehistoric cultural source of Western civilization.  The theory put forth in Robert Sarmast’s book: Discovery of Atlantis: the Startling Case for the Island of Cyprus was published by Origin Press in October of 2003 and caused a news sensation as it was the first time a real underwater landmass had been matched with Plato’s detailed description of Atlantis.  Over fifty physical matches were provided. 

Shortly after the publication of the book, Robert traveled to Cyprus and spent the next year preparing for a scientific expedition, which occurred in November of 2004. Cyprus in its current form appears to be the mountaintop of what used be a larger island, most of which is currently under water.  An underwater valley stretching between Cyprus and Syria appears to be the “great plain” of Atlantis, and an underwater mountain in the middle of this valley appears to be the Acropolis Hill of Atlantis City, our main target area.

The first Atlantis expedition succeeded in gathering sonar-generated images of the seafloor where the purported man-made structures were found.  Robert and his team are now working towards organizing a second expedition where an ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) will be sent to the depths to actually film the great wall of Atlantis.  A sub-bottom profiler will also be used to see what lies beneath the mud sitting on top of these massive structures.  The team plans to execute the second expedition sometime in the summer of 2006.

I do know that micro-level weather manipulation does occur, like when airplanes seed clouds; or things like the proposals by the Project for the New American Century, and their Vision for 20/20, to place clusters of metal telephone poles in outer-space to come crashing anywhere to earth in 45 minutes to cause meteor-like events.  For me, the fact that President Bush’s cabinet is even voicing proposals like this is horrifying and shocking beyond measure and should be a major news story worldwide.  In their documents they give the criteria for using these superweapons and the bar has been lowered to things like hungry nations not liking to be ruled.  Another weapon has been named “In your face from outer space” and space cannons to take out other countries satellites are also described, along with low flying aircraft delivering vaccines to whole cities.  These people have also written up executive orders demanding that everyone be vaccinated and rounded up into concentration camps at the Presidents’ behest during an undefined emergency.  Of course, none of this gets mentioned in our media and so you are labelled a conspiracy theorist even when quoting official government documents, many of which are available online for anyone to read or by getting a free copy of the DVD America: From Freedom to Fascism from me.

I would like to know why people like Col. Thomas Bearden have not done experiments and published in scientific journals accounts verifying the existence of their so-called longitudinal electromagnetic waves.  If even half of what Thomas Bearden and Bill Morgan are saying is true, it means we have a crisis on our hands to put it mildly.  If there are anyone with science background that could evaluate these weather manipulation websites and get back to me, I would be much appreciative.

Tear drills turn real, then not so much.

These were the headlines in today Oregonian.  The next line read…Then Not So Much.  Radio station KEX reported that evening that, “The terror drills turned live briefly yesterday.”

Am I the only one who see’s in this some kind of dark comedy? 

In thus mentioning yesterday’s fake“real”disaster, the Oregonian admits for the first time the existence of war games in Portland.  Topoff 4 has thousands of soldiers, military officials, federal agents (spies, murderers and creeps) crawling around our friendly city this week faking a dirty-bomb going off and the city’s ability to cope with such a disaster.

Members of the Portland 9/11 truth community had sat down with the editors of the Oregonian and warned of just such an eventuality, even presenting them with an editorial, which wasn’t published, explaining the background for war games and the past precedent for them running amok and turning deadly. 

The master of crying wolf himself, Homeland Security chief Michael Chertoff, was seen fleeing from his Portland Hotel with security entourage in tow.  The fiasco that happened at the Loyd Center Mall yesterday had confused shoppers asking if this was for real or part of the war games as security agents brought out hundreds of feet of crime scene tape, evacuated parking lots, and stood around in riot gear. 

This has got to be the apex of caustic humor. 

Apparently the bomb sniffing dogs that were part of the drill had gotten a whiff of bomb residue in one of the officials car.  Yet the image of Chertoff fleeing his hotel with his security entourage, while police dressed in riot gear tell confused shoppers that, “No this is real this time, not part of the drills…a real crime,” while helicopters are flying overhead, is surely the farce to end all farces.  And yet what makes this so funny is the touch of reality that is behind the curtain of madness.  These people could hire a theatrical company from Europe that could do a better job of lying.  It’s like they want to believe their own propoganda and are trying to convince themselves.

It reminds me of similar in your face charades played by the globalist forces of the New World Order. 

On 7/7, if you recall, there was one bus that was bombed, in addition to the tube bombings.  That one bus had been rerouted.  An enterprising reporter found out that the man who had the authority to make these changes—London’s Transport Commissioner Bob Kiley—was a former high level CIA agent (once an agent always an agent). 

In pictures of the partially bombed out bus, one can see the words “Outrights Terror: Bold and Brilliant” writen across the side, advertising a low-budget movie by that name.  One also see’s a white commercial van with writing advertising a company.  The white van ploy is a neccesary element for any paranoid conspiracy theory and UFO buffs, but in this case it turned out there really was a white van.  The agency written across it, Kingstar, is a controlled demolition company. It’s also interesting that the Butcher of 9/11, Rudi Giuliani, was just yards from Liverpool station where the bombs went off and war games were being played which mimicked the real attacks.  Giuliani’s security company is not only hired by governments.  It also performs simulated sabotages for private firms.  This is safer.  If anyone is caught, it is the private sector that has really carried out the atrocities.  But the bad guys usually leak out what happened, as if they are proud of it.  So after 7/7/, you had a former Scotland Yard official, who was then in charge of a private security firm, going on the BBC saying they were running drills in the exact same time and locations as the real attacks.  Same thing on 9/11, they let us know.  The war games that day exactly mimicked the real attacks as the CIA practiced flying planes into buildings.  There have been numourous confirmations of this, from all over the government.

It is clear that the people who do these things (I’m not allowed to say the “I” word, so I usually use a euphemism, but you get my point…a thousand points of light etc), leave a trail, like the magician who does his trick right in front of your face so that you don’t expect it.  An outright lie is hardly ever believed because it is too bold and brilliant.  Say the exact opposite of what is really true and you will be believed.  That’s the lesson Hitler’s propaganda minister Goring told his Nuremberg lawyers.

Let’s hope this isn’t the prelude to a cataclysmic horror show.  Now, more than ever, 9/11 truth matters and spreading the word about the precedent to war games turning deadly is so important.  It really should not surprise us, though, that our leaders guns have turned towards their own population.  These same people who are in power now were waging a brutal war against the people of Latin America during the 1980’s.  Matin Luther King was right when he said that the United States, “was on the wrong side of a world revolution.”  In most cases, the people that were targeted by Reagan’s death squads were only guilty of wanting democracy for their countries.  It’s interesting that our government has been l to kill millions of people in Latin America for the last 5 decades (in the case of Nicaragua, a quarter of the population was exterminated) with virtually no comment by the people of the United States.  Anyone who doubts that Americans are affected with the vice of genocide denying can just do a little experiment by mentioning,  the next time they are at a cocktail party, about the US airforce bombing neighborhoods and dragging students, priest and professors off to their south American gulags and see what kind of reactions they get.  Genocide minimizing is also an American vice.  I say this as the death toll in Iraq is getting close to a million. 

Maintaining this website was more than I could handle because I wind up spending all my time doing homework and study.  And it did not really turn out like I had hoped. It is interesting, though, to find that people link to my website, though, by typing “kombucha debunk” into search engines and other ridiculous things.  And it is also gratifying to know that between 20 and 40 people a day are logging in, even though I have received—as yet—very little feedback from readers.  But I really need to back off and stay away.  The kind of writing that generates results, moreover, is done slowly and carefully—not in haste.   Thankfully, a friend has offered to repair my computer.  I may, therefore, be able to write from home.  So we’ll  see what happens.  I have learned from my father that a good writer has a work ethic and, while talent helps, it’s necessary to sit down in the morning and just write, and then re-write.  WordPress is ideal for that because it allows editing, unlike many websites and blogs.   Apparently my name, however, doesn’t turn up this website because I haven’t written my name anywhere on this website yet.  so: patrick phillips, patrick phillips, patrick phillips, patrick phillips, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11.  Take that and stuff it up your algorithm.

I have been trying to memorize the international phonetic alphabet and wondering how it is practical and why I need to know this stuff.  I don’t wonder that anymore.  Yesterday I went to a language tutor for a foreign language course I am taking.  I was having trouble with the pronunciation of a word.  She said, “The consonant influences the vowel.”  Then she whipped out her black marker and wrote the word on the board in the IPA.  “I get it,” I said to myself.  “That’s so awesome.”  Without the IPA, the letters in her native language would have been misleading.   So linguistics really is practical. 

I saw my naturalpathic physician yesterday as well.  There is a link with her contact information to the right.  I started seeing her for the first time a couple years ago.  Back then, she started me on natural thyroid supplements—as well as treating other things.  She announced to me yesterday that my thyroid was now repaired and I did not need to take the bovine thyroid anymore.  That’s wild, I thought.  Then I thought, Praise the Lord.  That’s what I had envisioned when I started seeing her.  But I thought it would take 20 years.  She said that taking thyroid supplements at this point would acutally be countereffective.  Wow!!  I’m still realing over this one. 

What happened yesterday shouldn’t have happened according to the ideology of medical science, which is more concerned with method then outcome and treats everyone on the basis of statistics rather than  everyone differently.  According to medical science, there is no repairing of the thyroid.  She explained it to me, during the first visit a couple years ago, that the cow DNA and the human DNA are so similar that the human thyroid starts grafting on to what the cow DNA, copying it and wa la.  My naturalpathic physician also said that many people do not know that they are switched (have confusion in the autonomic nervous system).  They just feel that something isn’t quite right, or they are tired, or don’t feel quite like they used to.  I feel better now than when I first started seeing her.  It seems that the older I grow, the moreenergy I have.  There is not much that I can do, but I wish everyone could feel such a turn around in their life energy as I have felt over the last few years.  When I think of the people who resign themselves to conditions that they think are congenital, or maybe spend so much time and money looking in the wrong places, I feel saddened.  I wish everyone could know the benefits of nutrition that I have experienced.

Dick Cheney & Vigilant Shield: Will a Missing Nuke from the B-52 Incident be used in a Simulated Terrorist Attack?

From October 15 to 19, 2007, a set of military and civil exercises will be held in Oregon, Arizona and Guam. The exercises, TOPOFF 4 and Vigilant Shield 08, are designed to test official responses to the detonation of radiological dispersal devices on U.S. territory. The exercises will be overseen by Vice President Dick Cheney who will travel specifically to Portland to coordinate all Federal departments and agencies responses to the simulated attacks. This has led to a number of civilian groups expressing alarm that TOPOFF and Vigilant Shield might be used as a cover for False Flag operations that replicate what occurred during the 911 attacks . On September 11, 2001, Dick Cheney was overseeing a series of simulated terrorist attacks involving hijacked airplanes hitting buildings that was called “Vigilant Guardian”. Vigilant Guardian was run simultaneously with NORAD training exercises called Vigilant Warrior and Northern Vigilance that altogether involved as many as eleven hijacked airplanes. This created much confusion and led to stand down orders for the US Air Force that was unsure if the 911 attacks were part of the simulated exercises or real attacks. This confusion accounted for the long delays between initial reports of hijacked planes being used in ‘terrorist’ attacks, and Air Force intercept missions being launched using the few planes not involved in the Northern Vigilance exercise. 

What makes TOPOFF 4 and Vigilant Shield especially concerning is that they follow upon an incident involving five (later revised up to six) nuclear cruise missiles found on a B-52 sitting on a tarmac at Barksdale Air Force Base on August 30. The Air Force has launched an official inquiry and so far has announced to the public that the B-52 incident was nothing more than an unusually high number of errors. A Washington Post article on September 23 summarized the main arguments for this explanation which has effectively put to an end any further investigations by mainstream media sources. In contrast, a number of researchers have argued that the B-52 incident could not have occurred without very senior officials giving orders, and others refusing to comply with such orders. According to Wayne Madsen a number of Air Force personnel refused to allow the nuclear armed B-52 to fly in a covert mission to Iran outside the normal chain of military command. Madsen describes the nature of the internal conflict over the B-52 incident: “Command and control breakdowns involving U.S. nuclear weapons are unprecedented, except for that fact that the U.S. military is now waging an internal war against neo-cons who are embedded in the U.S. government and military chain of command who are intent on using nuclear weapons in a pre-emptive war with Iran.” 

Madsen is alluding here to the most plausible explanation for the source of orders leading to the B-52 incident. The orders emanated from the office of the Vice President, and in particular Dick Cheney himself. Cheney’s orders were opposed all the way up the Department of Defense hierarchy including Admiral William Fallon, Commander of Central Command, and Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates. This is supported by a recent report in the Telegraph newspaper that Gates has become the chief opponent to Dick Cheney’s plans to commit the U.S. to another war against Iran and is encouraging military officers to be more candid in their assessments of a new conflict. 

What makes the B-52 incident even more disturbing is that six nuclear cruise missiles left Minot Air Force Base, and the initial Military Times report on September 5 reported that five nuclear warheads were discovered at Barksdale Air Force Base. This was subsequently revised by the Military Times to six in an updated story five days later on September 10. How could the Air Force mix up how many nuclear weapons were initially involved in the incident? The most plausible explanation is that there had been a discrepancy in the number of nuclear weapons that had left Minot and what had been later discovered at Barksdale? The nuclear armed B-52 had been sitting on the tarmac in an unsecured military environment for up to 10 hours before its nuclear payload was discovered. This offered plenty of time for the removal of one of the nuclear weapons. Such an event had to be covered up for national security purposes which is why the Military Times revised its initial report. The possibility of a missing nuclear weapon is augmented by an unprecedented official standown by the Air Force on September 14 where all planes were grounded allegedly to review Standard Operating Procedures. Was the Air Force really conducting an emergency inventory to locate any missing nuclear weapons? 

This raises the disturbing possibility that not only was the B-52 ordered to participate in a covert mission to attack Iran outside the regular chain of military command, but that one of its nuclear weapons was secretly siphoned off for another covert mission. If Dick Cheney did give the order for the nuclear weapons to be loaded on to the B-52, it is highly likely that he is aware of the location and potential use of the missing nuclear missile. A number of serious questions therefore need to be asked about the appropriateness of Cheney being in charge of TOPOFF 4 and Vigilant Shield. This is even more urgent if there is a missing nuclear warhead that was taken from the B-52 for a yet undisclosed mission. Could this mission be related to the TOPOFF and Vigilant Shield exercises?

I have suspended tonight’s Illuminati article to speak about something that was brought to my attention just yesterday by a blogger friend of mine.

Starting tomorrow all eyes of North America, indeed the world, will be on Portland, Oregon as TOPOFF 4 and Operation Vigilant Shield begin. From October 15th-25th the U.S. Government and military will be holding the largest ‘exercise’ in the nations history. It is designed to simulate a series of nuclear or ‘dirty bomb’ detonations in the area and will involve more than 15,000 people taking part in the response teams.

It is absolutely imperative that we all pay attention to this because this could be the next ‘false-flag’ operation the Bush Administration and the Powers That Be are waiting for. With President Bush’s recent Presidential Directive NSPD 51, the stage is set for him to declare total martial law and even suspend the 2008 Presidential Elections if he so chooses. Bush and Cheney could be just one ‘false-flag’ away from seizing complete power over the people if things in Portland this week turn real.

Of course we are all aware of similar ‘false-flag’ events that have occurred in the past to bring about the Administrations plans, including 9/11 and 7/7 in London, which is why, with this being the largest ‘exercise’ in history, it is important to keep an eye on it because there is a very real chance that this could turn ugly in a hurry.

The OTA (Oregon Truth Alliance) have been staging a major media awareness campaign to try and stop the exercise from happening but of course it has been to no avail. The government is going to go through with this thing whether the people like it or not and that, perhaps, is the most scary thing of all. No longer is this a government that listens to the people, it hasn’t been for a long time actually, but rather a government that just wants to seize control of the people by any means necessary. If it means destroying parts of its own country than so be it.

I am not going to be adding anything more to this website.  It has not turned out quite like I had imagined, mostly because I am too busy with my university studies.  As a forum, though, wordpress seems ideal for writers because of the ability to edit posts once they are published.  But it is has been draining time and energy away from my studies and I have not received enough feedback on it to make it worth my while.  But, the addictive nature of blogging, neccesitates that I make an official and sudden break. 

People, of course, are still free to view it.  I’ve been averaging about 20 hits a day, maybe more,though I really have no idea who these people are.  Already today there have been 27 hits.  509 overall since the websites inception and it seems to be growing.  I suspect it is from people doing searches related to 9/11.  It is certainly not because I have a readership. If you type in “world trade center explosions”, you will receive hundreds of thousands of hits.  So I’m not sure exactly why google turns mine up with such frequency.  It’s hard to know which posts people are looking at most. 

There are pictures of Robin and me taken last summer.  You can view them by clicking on the catigories for ‘Patrick’s Friends’.  Both my brothers have interesting websites, which one can link to from my blog.  In fact, all the links to the right will connect you to very interesting websites which will furnish hours of reading material on a wide variety of subjects.  If anyone is interested more in Orthodoxy, I would suggest the writer Metropolitan Herotheos Napfaktos, who has written a number of books translated into English including The Soul After Death and Orthodox Psychotherapy.  His link is now up.  It is fortunate that most of his writings, in their entirety, are online.

Thank you Mom and Mike Verostick for being the only one’s who have expressed interest and excitement for this website.  To all the rest of you who have viewed it over the last month, thank you too.

To end with one last piece of news.  Starting later this week will be a serries of war games in Portland, OR simulating a “dirty bomb” going off.  This is serious.  It is called Topoff 4, standing for “Top officials”.  It is also dangerous.   For what it’s worth, I hope we are all prepared.  Everyone can do their part by spreading the word about 9/11.  This holds true for even people who have not thought of themselves as activists in the past.  There needs to be a groundswell of truth about this issue.  The future is not determined for us, but it will take concerted effort.  This means speaking out to friends and family and trying generally to make the facts of 9/11 known.  Only that way can we prevent another terrorist attrocity.

War Games in Portland next week

Given the propensity, in the past, for things like this to run amuck and turn deadly, it would be remiss of me not to post about this.  This is the second batch of war games to hit our friendly city this year.  My biggest problem is that it is being kept under wraps and the people of Portland are not being told.   The people that did try to alert the local media were then ridiculed after the fact when nothing sinister occured.  But it is like playing terror drill roulette.  Covert forces, not loyal to the constitution, use war games and terror drills as a cover when they plan to carry out a real terrorist attack.  Does that mean that there is necessarily always something sinister afoot when war games are conducted?  Absolutely not.  Plenty of war games are “benign”.  But it behooves citizens to be watchful and, as Thomas Jefferson wrote, I don’t remember the quote exactly, to be the “consience of government”—or words to that effect.

The TOPOFF 4 Exercise “Top Officials 4” is the nation’s fourth major exercise in emergency preparedness. Using resources that Congress made available to prepare for acts of terrorism, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security sponsors the TOPOFF exercises as part of a thorough assessment of America’s ability to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from an attack that involves aweapon of mass destruction. Each TOPOFF exercise involves a two-year cycle of seminars,planning events, and exercises. The exercises enable federal, state and local agencies to identifyways to improve their ability to save lives and protect property when any major public emergencyoccurs, regardless of whether that emergency is natural or manmade. TOPOFF 4 will involve more than 15,000 participants from federal, state, territorial, and localgovernments, as well as private-sector organizations and non-governmental organizations. Inaddition to Oregon, the state of Arizona and the U.S. Territory of Guam will participate. This isthe first time a U.S. territory will take part in a TOPOFF exercise. Guam’s involvement will enable all participants to practice coordinated activities in prevention and response among the continental U.S. and a U.S. territory. Three international partners–Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom–will also conduct related exercises. 

From October 15-19, Oregon will test the ability of state and local governments to prevent,respond to and recover from an attack that uses a radiological dispersal device (RDD), commonlycalled a “dirty bomb.” Portland will host the exercise, which is one of the largest civilian exercises ever conducted. Three local governments will take part directly in the exercise, including the city of Portland, Multnomah County, and Columbia County, while at least threeother county governments will be indirectly involved, including Washington County and Clackamas County in Oregon, and Clark County in Washington State. This full-scale exercise will give state and local emergency management and response agenciesthe opportunity to test plans, procedures and equipment, while focusing on the followingcapabilities: evacuation/shelter-in-place, mass care, mass prophylaxis and communications. State and local participants will also benefit from close interaction with the federal government,voluntary organizations, international partners and the private sector. The exercise will address issues in public policy and strategy, including mobilization of systemsthat prevent disasters, as well as those that respond to disasters when they occur. The exercise will require participants to make difficult decisions and carry out essential functions. It will challenge their ability to maintain a common, coordinated response to an incident of nationalsignificance. Agencies and organizations will deploy staff into the field, just as they would in a real-worldsituation. They will face realistic challenges that relate specifically to the incident at hand,including allocation of limited resources and effective management in changing conditions. Planning and preparation for the exercise will help strengthen working relationships among departments and agencies at every level of government toward preventing such emergencies and responding to them effectively if they should ever occur.

Over the last week the amount of traffic on my blog has increased many fold.  This is strange since I have not really advertized my new website.  The only people, thus far, to have even acknowledged its existence has been my mother and a friend of mine from church (a one work email “thanx”).   After I started posting articles written by other people on 9/11, however, I went from getting two and three hits a day to getting over twenty hits a day.  I still would like to know which of my friends and aquaintances are reading my website because then I could tayler the posts to my audience.  Still no takers.  I am able to see the kinds of searches that lead to this website.  A lot of people reach my website by typing in words like, “twin towers bombs truth-movement”.  I suppose that is the real reason why so many hits are now being made.  Yesterday I had a post, which I’ve since taken down, about the location of some of the 19 hijackers.  I had a comment waiting for my moderation from a young man telling me he knew where Bin Laden and his group was, and that his life was in danger because of international hit-men.  His website had photographs of the hit-men he said were after him and he asked me to forward his comments and his website to the FBI.  No thanks.

As a side note, somebody I know, who also has a website, has been visiting my website.  Every time he does it, however, my website registers that it is him and gives a link to a private part of his website where I can go and read who has been visiting his website, how many hits he gets, what searches turn it up and stuff like that.  The same information for his website that I am talking about for mine here.  This is strange to me because there is no link to my website on his website.  After visiting this page a few times out of curiousity, which should have been secure, requiring his own password, I desisted, deciding to practice the golden rule.  You may know who you are.  No fear.  I shall not be visiting any uninvited web pages of yours in the future.

This website is pretty chill.  It is a way to get me used to blogging.  Right now I certainly don’t have time to write the kind of in-depth social and political analysis I hope to one day.  I have alerted various friends and family members who coalesce around me.  Aside from one word from a friend from church named Mike saying ”thanx” in an email, my mother was the only one to express any kind of excitement or interest in my new site or even to acknowledge its existence.  Other than those two people, not one single word to the news that I now have a website.  Since  then I have had almost 100 hits (the website doesn’t count my own hits),  and I really have no idea who may be visiting this site.  But knowing my audience will definitely help me gear the blogging in certain directions.  Some people I know say I spend too much time in politics.  But this comes from a surface reaction that is far from accurate.  Most of my posts so far have been concerned with health and with religion.  Will the readers of this website please stand up? 

almonds for almond milk

I have been enjoying Bob’s Redmill Cream of Buckwheat cereal every morning for breakfast, which I sprinkle with four tablespoons of hempseeds.  Recently I came across a recipe for almond milk which looked really interesting.  So I went out to buy almonds at my local Co-op.  I found that the organic almonds were almonds 20 dollars a pound.  One cup cost me 9 dollars.  The cashier informed me that this was because of the great die-off of bees around the country.  But the almond milk was the best I’d ever made and I was very pleased.  The recipe called for four cups of water to one cup of almonds, soacked overnight, two dates for sweetener, and half a teaspoon of vanilla.  The next day I went to Whole Foods to see if they had any conventional almonds that were a reasonable price.  They did.  And a new notice was put on all the bulk almond containers informing customers that as of Sep 1st 2007, a new FDA law required  all almonds to be steamed before going to market.  This is in effect pasturization of almonds and makes even less sense than pasturizing cows milk.  In what sense can we then say that these almonds are raw?  The point of making your own almond milk is to keep the vital nutriants intact. 

 I settled for brazil nuts and I have to say that milk this morning was extremely tasty.

Berlitz classes

Having just finished a two month long Spanish class at Portland’s Berlitz language school, I wanted to meditate for a while on what a great school is Berlitz.  I have truly men some wonderful people, some of which have become amigos of mine and even seeing each other sometimes outside of class at social events.  Berlitz has classes all over the world and offer study abroad opportunities.  One of my compañeros is a Romanian man who has a girlfriends in Mexico city.  His name is Valentino and he goes to Mexico city a lot.  His girlfriend is the secretary to the Mexico city Berlitz school.  Berlitz classes cost less than University courses and if one travells outside the United States often the classes are even less expensive than in the United States.  It is great for travellors who often find it difficult to find people to speak to.  One of the things I like about Berlitz is the constant interaction with speakers of other languages.  I have now had two Spanish teachers.  One class from a Cuban man and another from a Mexico man.   I hear the difference between the two types of Spanish.  Very different.  Beacuse the vowells are pretty much the same wherever you go in the Spanish speaking world, there is not so much variation as with English accents, but still enough to notice in the consonants and the intonation.  And my Spanish class at PSU is with someone from south America.  What have I learned?  That I prefer Mexican Spanish the least.  This is unfortuante because many people from Mexico speak very good Spanish.  But those people don’t come here.  They stay in Mexico.

I appreciate the friends and family members who have started viewing this site.  Unfortunately, I don’t have the time to write the kind of in-depth analysis I would like.  Occasionally I will post interesting things, things to do with my linguistics class.  But this website will be pretty chill, kind of like an online journal. This is also an opportunity to get used to maintaining a website so that when, in the future, I do have something more serious—it will not be so difficult.  And if ever I started worrying about spelling, I would never write anything.

unbelievable

Last night (Friday) I was coming home from a dance.  I was on second street, an area of town I like to avoid because of all the scuzzy bars and homeless people.  I was holding my dance shoes and shivvering, waiting for the bus.  I man approached me asking for money.  This happens a lot and I have to excersize discernment to seperate the wheat from the shaft.  I usually never give more than a dollar.  Because I thithe slightly below ten percent (which isn’t really tithing at all), I figure I shouldn’t begrudge charity when an opportunity presents itself.  The man introduced himself as Jimmy and said that he had just run out of gas,lived in Vancoover WA,  had unwittingly left his wallet at home, and said his wife and daughter were in his truck crying. 

     So I gave him the money that I had set aside to go to a dance party the next evening with a women, even though it meant I would have to cancel the date.  I meant to give him 12 dollars, which would be enough to get a tank of gas.  But in the darkness I accidentally gave him 18 dollars.  He asked for my address so that he could send me the money right back to me, or so he said. 

     At 3:00am my doorbell rings and it is Jimmy.  He asked to be able to sleep with me and for more money.  Unbelievable! The only reason I opened my door was because I thought he had driven back to town to pay me back.  That was the impression I received.

     “Don’t put me out on the street,” Jimmy said. “”Just a few bucks.  Please.  I’ll give you my tools as callatoral and you can take them to the ponshop tommorow.  Please…just a few bucks.”  Un-be-lie-vable.

    

trouble with computers

In the last week I have discovered that I made some errors on my financial aid forms and must re-do them.  This is no easy task.  Interaction with people is sometimes very hard to come by and the websites are sometimes very un-user friendly.  It has caused me to reflect on computer use in general.  Although there are many nice things about the internet, such as being able to maintain a website and share information more effectively, I am not at all pleased with the way universities have turned over so much of their classes to computers.  For my part, I tend to get quite severe headaches if I spend too much time at a computer.  When I first started with college ten years ago, everything had to be done in the classroom and teachers had more freedom.  They say that computers make things easier.  That, however, is refuted by my personal experience trying to get the financial aid forms filled out before the next deadline.
